What size is the average model in Australia and New Zealand?

High fashion models for catwalk and editorial are size 8. As that is the international standard for models and we must follow.

However for everyday catalogue modelling it is a size 10.

Sports Illustrated Model
If you wanted to be a Sports Illustrated model in the USA they look at models from size 8 to 12. Because they are swimsuit models and therefore must look healthy and have a healthy bust.

Victoria Secrets Model
To be a Victoria Secrets Model in America you must measure: bust 34”, waist 24”, hips 34”.  They have a once a year competition: Models must be female, between 18 to 30 years of age, from the United States and a minimum of 5’8” tall (barefoot).

Plus Size Modelling
Some agencies will accept what is termed as plus size models. They are size 14 upwards and must have a proportional figure and shapely legs.

Charity Modelling
Being in your local fashion parade raising money for charity can be fun and they generally look for normal size models such as size 10 and 12. Generally they will use plus size models as well. But this is fun, not for your profit. But why not enjoy yourself!

But remember…
Regardless of which type of model you wish to be, you must be 5’8/172cm to 5’11’/180cm.

Please, please, please…
If you are not naturally a size 8 and have to struggle to be that size, then do not become a high fashion model as you will never be happy or healthy. Think of another career where you will happy, healthy and feel a lot more fulfilled.

Regardless if you want to be a model or not it is still important to look and feel your best by learning about correct skincare, makeup, clothes, deportment and general grooming so you too will look stunning!

BE the BEST that YOU can BE!
